About CFO Tribune

CFO Tribune is a record of who runs finance at US public companies. It tracks every change in a company's principal financial officer that the company reports to the SEC, and keeps a roster of who signed each company's latest annual report as principal financial officer. Its sister publication, CFO Voice, collects what those CFOs say on the record.

Who it is for

People who follow finance leadership: sitting CFOs and their teams, boards and audit committees, recruiters, researchers and reporters. We write short, sourced entries that can be checked in a minute.

How it is made

Software agents read SEC filings and company releases and draft records. An automated gate checks every draft against the rules on the methodology page. Then a human editor reads each draft against its source and approves it, or does not. Nothing about a named person publishes without that approval.

What we do not do

• We do not characterize departures. We quote the company's filing, word for word.
• We do not offer views on stocks, valuations or outlooks.
• We do not invent people, quotes, dates or interviews. What we cannot establish, we label as not established.
• We do not paraphrase inside quotation marks.
