Interim CFO

Also: acting CFO · interim chief financial officer

On CFO Tribune, an interim CFO is an officer a filing appoints to the principal financial officer role on an interim or acting basis. The record files these as interim moves, apart from appointments: a title with interim or acting in it is always an interim move, whatever else the filing says. The record reads the same facts as for any appointment under Item 5.02(c) of Form 8-K: "the name and position of the newly appointed officer and the date of the appointment." A company whose latest move is an interim appointment is listed on the open seats page until a filing names a permanent officer. This is the record's own convention, set out in the methodology.
